Off The Runway: Balmain SS17 Menswear

Olivier Rousteing never cease to amaze his audiences. In the latest SS17 Menswear collection, not only did Olivier showcast 80 different outfits from this season, (You hear me right, 80!) he has also mixed things up by showing women collection in the show. A lot of creative directors have shaken things up lately. For example, Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy has shown his FW16 couture collection together with his SS17 menswear collection. Balmain, on the other hand, has definitely shown some couture collection but Balmain is not a member of the Haute Couture Chamber. Balmain has its own pre-fall 2016 show and resort 2017 show. Hence, it is interesting and to some extent confusing for the audience to see some women collection on the runway. But we have to applause Olivier for his non-stop creativity and beautiful creation for the French house.

Bringing back Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears famous #JeansOnJeans trend, Olivier reimagined how you can attempt this effort with a touch of Balmain and of course we are not celebrities we probably could not afford these Balmain pieces, but we can definitely recreate these looks ourselves at more price-friendly stores.
