Everytime after I come back for holiday, I always feel the need to go for detox. Not only because I indulge myself in food when I travel, travelling on flights or even road trips will make your body dehydrated. I found this recipe where it combines coconut water (for hydration purpose) and watermelon (for detox purpose). How good is this, when you can kill two birds with one stone?
- 1 cup cubed watermelon
- 5-6 mint leaves
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 2 cups filtered water
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Chill it in the fridge for 1-2 hours and serve.
Watermelon 🍉 contains citrulline, an amino acid that helps improve liver function by filtering and getting rid of ammonia. It also contains Vitamins A, B6 and C, lots of lycopene, antioxidants and amino acids.
Coconut water is alkaline and has a great cleansing effect on the body. It can help us to balance our body pH especially when you are away for a long time and not eating healthily. Alkaline liquid can help to bring down the acidity in our body system.
