Stylish Saturday: Autumn 2016 Style

March 1 marks the official first day of autumn and what is more exciting than getting ready a brand new wardrobe for the colder season. As I previously reasoned, Australian’s climate is not that extreme for our Autumn Winter so in many sense I love to look at the Northern hemisphere’s Spring Summer collection for our Autumn Winter outfit inspiration.

Net-A-Porter Fall 2015 issue suggests readers a few things to experiment this autumn. Whilst many of the runway looks may not be available in store or online, we can always recreate this look with lifestyle brand which is more affordable and would not hurt your wallet that much.

1. Stand out with a flash of red

A.P.C. SS16 Look 7

A pair of bright red chinos with a plain top and sweater definitely goes a long way. This look is easy to recreate and pull off.

Bally SS16 Look 20

The flash of bright red blazer is perhaps what you need to make a statement when you attend functions and parties. This Bally blazer can be a timeless piece and something worth spending your money on. Red can almost be a timeless colour choice and there is always a reason to go red whole year round.

2. Experiment with bold prints

Marni SS16 Look 10

Marni has always been well known for its creative and bold choice when it comes to print. Beyond the chaos I see a piece of beautiful art and I think it is always good to have a piece of bold statement print in a guy’s wardrobe.

Coach SS16 Look 2

When Coach launched its SS16 collection, the first thing that captured my attention is the bold choice of the jacket’s print. If you are visiting any art galleries or exhibition this season, perhaps you might want to recreate this look, and of course maybe not with shorts and sandals.

3. Rich textures

Balmain SS16 Look 1

When I see rich texture is one of the key styles for AW16, I knew I have to look into Balmain. Olivier Rousteing, creative director of the French house is well known for his obsession with rich texture and details. This jacket is the perfect piece that defines the season.

Marni SS16 Look 17

Textures and layers. This sweater from Marni SS16 collection would make a perfect sweater this upcoming cold season. You can easily recreate this look and I like the way the sweater has been rolled up from wrist up. It gives a really different but good twist to how a sweater is worn, without much alteration or effort.
